Experience

My background in a range of settings has given me experiencing in providing services for a wide variety of presenting concerns. I have worked with ages eight and up providing both therapy and psychological assessments. My therapeutic training has focused on providing treatment for trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, unhelpful personality patterns, and interpersonal problems. Additionally, I have received training in psychological evaluations, and can provide diagnostic clarification and recommendations for suspected concerns such as ADHD, autism evaluations, learning concerns, behavioral problems, PTSD, and more. Additionally, my training background allows me to provide court ordered evaluations for a variety of situations.

I am able to provide a variety of trauma focused treatment modalities. Additionally, I primarily work from a dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) lens. My goal is to build an understanding and empathetic relationship, while assisting others in reaching their goals and the versions of themselves they aspire toward. I provide a variety of skills that can assist in addressing current problems in the moment, as well as facilitate long-term change. My goal is to assist in accepting limitations that may arise in life, while finding ways to both tolerate and overcome challenges.

Regarding assessment, I feel that the right diagnosis can make the world of difference in determining treatment approaches, accommodations, and where to begin with creating change. Psychological evaluations can provide direction and clarity for those struggling to manage their experiences. My intent in an evaluation is to understand a client from a wholistic perspective and to provide comprehensive results in a timely manner.

Clinical Approach

"Insight is transformative because it presents new possibilities. When we understand the logic behind our ideas, feelings, and actions, the prospect of change arises."

My interest in psychology stems from a desire to provide needed care to those who may not have the opportunity to receive services otherwise. I feel that everyone deserves to experience a version of themselves that they are satisfied with. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate career, I have worked in residential and inpatient facilities, private practice, and forensic facilities such as at the Kane County Diagnostic Center and Taycheedah Correctional Facility providing both therapy and assessment services.
